Just another weblog
This is awesome. I’ve been looking for a decent foundation for my car mp3 player for a long time now… I was thinking that Mini-ITX was the way to go but theres still a problem with software and stuff… but I ran across this thing and its pretty cheap.
You can see a Screen Savers video on it here.

It seems that people actually do read this blog… and they like some of the crap I talk about… so much, in fact, that guys like Curtis went and bought the book Backyard Ballistics and made cannons…. nice.
(Actually, Chris bought the book first… but he has yet to make a cannon yet… wtf?)
Check out a video of Curtis in action here.
This is the most awesomest camera in the world… I want one. Its on my wishlist now.

It’s time to poke a doughnut-sized hole into the notion that Americans want healthier food. The fastest-growing dining category nationwide last year wasn’t fine dining or family restaurants: It was doughnut shops.

For awhile, I wanted one of those USB notebook lights since it would be nice to see my laptop keyboard while I’m watching a movie with the lights off or something at home…. but I couldn’t bear to pay twenty bux for something so simple…
So instead I ended up getting a CobraCam which has the light AND a webcam in one unit… which seemed to make a lot of sense to me since its not that much bigger than just the light version… Furthermore the CobraCam only cost $20 as well!
Thought I might share that with you guys… it works great… here’s a link to TigerDirect page on it.
BTW, you can also get an USB Fan!

I just went thru’ discussing the concept of Matrix and 13th Floor while I was in Costa Rica and I just stumbled across this…
Numerous studies show that girls reach puberty younger, become sexually active earlier and are more likely to get pregnant in their teens if their father was absent from the home from when they were young. But the usual explanation – that such families are under more stress – is now being challenged by a long-term study of girls in New Zealand and the US, the Western countries with the highest teen pregnancy rates.
A friend of mine sent this to me today… interesting stuff regarding sex selection of your newborn…

In case you’ve wandered here accidentally, a brief explanation is probably in order. It has apparently been the dream of a certain physics major here at Cornell named Austin to have a series of photographs taken of half-naked girls in various poses with physics equations written on their backs. This is the result of this strange and twisted dream
Maxim is one funny magazine… its one of my favorites, and now YOU can get it for free… FOR TWO YEARS!.
And you people tell me that I never look out for you! BAH!
Its clear that my buddies and I have a MAJOR Halo problem at this point. Everyone is buying Xboxes like its going out of style to play this damn game. Whats worse, is that we’re something like 2 years behind or something stupid like that… we’re so uncool. 😀
Anyhow, Dman stumbled on a new genre of film-making where they use video game rendering engines to make movies. He then found one made using Halo called The Blood Gulch Chronicles. Its actually really well done and very, very funny – but I can’t tell if its just simply funny, or if its only funny becuase we play Halo all the freak’n time now. [shrug]
Since I’m such a nice guy, I’ve mirrored them all here so you don’t have to fight with their crappy servers trying to download them. Cheers!
After a quick stop at a party last night, I ended up going to the Floore Country Store to watch a live performance of the Big Bad Voodoo Daddies. Now, I haven’t been to as many life shows as my colleagues in Seattle, but…
This was the most amazing show I’ve ever been to. WOW
I actually own a BBVD disc and had completely forgotten how good of a bunch of muscians these guys were. They had amazing presence and totally controlled the crowd… I’m sure the random and crazy swing dancing that was going on behind me added to the ambience… These guys were having FUN on stage and it showed.
If you ever have the chance to see these guys live, I highly recommend it. Oh… and here are some pics and videos... 🙂
You know, I’ve been messing with my car PC project for a couple of years now… (I have a pile of parts in a bin for it if I ever finish it)… my main problem was boot time, since I really wanted it booted and working within 5 seconds… all this time I had been waiting for the LinuxBIOS project to mature, but this dude set everything up in an Xbox. Dman and I have been messing with the MiniITX stuff since lots of the cases run on 12VDC native, but this Xbox setup is much less expensive as a whole I think… hmm… time to rethink everything.
People’s personalities are not set in stone by the age of 30, contrary to popular and professional beliefs, new research suggests.

Yes – I was in Costa Rica… but now I’m back in San Antonio. It was a great trip. Drop me a line if you really want to hear about it. 😉
Ok… I’m still alive. I’ve made it to my destination. It took forever. I have lots of stories… All of which have nothing to do with Costa Rica so far.
Note, if you’d like to ever claim revenge on someone – send them on an international flight on AA. [grumble]

I admint it – I have a problem. I love the Xbox game Halo… I can play it for hours.
People keep telling me that the physics in the game are really accurate and stuff – but I don’t really give a flip. But if you really want to see some interesting shots of them, check out this video.
