I was thinking… not only do I love physics, but I love Rube Goldberg machines too… this is probably another reason why I love Frigits so much…
Anyhow, here’s a Honda commerical after my own heart… As Ali G would say – CHECK IT! BOOYAKASHA!
Since it seems like some of my friends had no idea this was going on (*COUGH* ANNIE *COUGH*) so I figured I should point it out…

This is great… I’m so tired about people bitching about America… gotta love this site.
I don’t watch American Idol… mainly because the later ones aren’t funny… but the first few episodes are.. This one is particularly funny.
And the pi?ce de r?sistance of today’s posting… How to be a Small Town Slut
“You know the world is off tilt, when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest basketball player is Chinese, and Germany doesn’t want to go to war.” -Charles Barkley
First, Blockbuster tries to get out of the music business…. now its Best Buy… Story here.
David Lawrence told me about his new blog that shows you were you can download LEGAL MP3’s… its pretty cool, and it has lots of popular artists as well. Check it out.

Everyone has a funky ring-tone on their mobile phone these days, but if you’re a Smiths or Morrissey fan, you’ve got to check this site out. (actually, I wouldn’t mind having Girlfriend in a Coma on my phone… hmmm)
Ah… since I was already on a physics-kick tonight… this site was interesting… The Museum of Unworkable Devices – Check it out.
I read the title of this article and then I stared at it for awhile… nope… not from the Onion… From Yahoo – ‘TIME-TRAVELER’ BUSTED FOR INSIDER TRADING… then I ran into this Urban Legends Reference site… WOW!
Carlie sent me a box of Frigits today… This has got to be one of the most coolest things you can get a physics-nut like me. When I got it, I couldn’t wait to get home to my fridge… and when I got there, it took every once of effort to peel me away from them so I could get some other things done… Ok, I’m a dork – but Frigits still kick-ass! Woohoo!
You can check out a video of it in action here.
(Speaking of physics, Quantum Teleportation WILL happen dammit!)
My high-school buddy, Kevin, and his wife, Danna, have been experimenting with some new wines… lots of them are pretty inexpensive – including a 5 dollar bottle (yikes).

When I was growing up, I loved Knight-Rider… evidentally, these guys also did. Check out this video.
I have no idea what the website at http://www.blackmarketkittens.com/ is about – but its gone now. I’m sooo curious to know what used to be there… Google’s cache has this If anyone knows more about this site, please drop me a line.
Like Destiny’s Child? Watch this. Weird stuff.
Last time I was in NYC in January, you couldn’t go 10mins without hearing someone bitch about the smoking ban that was about to occur… Quite frankly, I couldn’t see how they could ban smoking in NYC… LA? sure! But NYC?
Well they did it – you can read all about it here.
What’s really distressing is that that they’re gonna do the same thing all over Texas… wow… A non-smoking Malboro man? Is that even possible?
NO MORE DRINKING. I’m done for awhile…
Friday night I ended up hanging with some of the boys out in downtown… at which time my comrades proceeded to pick up an entire harem of Miller girls. I swore I wouldn’t drink that night but I ended up being a victim of my strong team-player attitude… you can see some shots here.
Saturday, Dirk had a game night… Mike was visiting from Indianna and serving Irish Car-Bombs… mmm…. and Dirk was dishing out Rasberry Mojitos… long story short, I didn’t get home until dawn. Check out pics and video here.
I also spent some time taking pics of the crazy billboards along 281… I didn’t quite understand why there were these series of signs that advertised a storage place with pictures of nude fat men and fungus ridden toe nails. Research found this article and you can see the pics here. Evidentally, they’re going to take them down – so sad.
Fairly busy week…
Started out touring the ArtPace building – pretty neat stuff. It seems that they have a new exhibit every month… I recommend you check it out.
Checked out the movie Old School — it sucked. I don’t recommend you watch it. With that said, it seems that the Filthy Critic loved it just fine. If you’ve never read the Filthy Critic, I highly recommend it – he’s a riot.
Last night was spent at the Spurs vs. Rockets game at SBC center… skybox seats and free beer… and it didn’t matter which team won! What more could you ask for? Aftwardwards we headed over to Arriba and some other places… check out the pics.

And it seems our perfect match of Zora and Joe Millionaire is no longer… check out the scoop here.
Like watching people play DDR? Here are some videos…
Back in the day, I had a friend explain to me that running into a moose would do more damage to the car than the moose… in fact, she claimed that the moose would just trott off without a scratch… I didn’t believe it until I saw this.
This shouldn’t be funny, but it is… hope you enjoy it. Watch the video.
We laughed… We cried… we drank… we danced… and drank some more. What can I say? It was another classic Elmendorf party… Happy Birthdays to Brett and Paul!
I think this particular event was amazingly well documented with quite a few digicams floating around – and Dirk turned it up a half-notch with recording video at the event as well. Only time will tell what the boys at “Elmendorf Light and Magic” will produce.
Highlights from the party include heavy shooter action.. beer runs… lots of dancing while the DJ spun a few… and the usual display of hot girl-on-girl luv’n!
If you missed it – shame on you… if you were there – shame on you! [laughter]
Check out the entire photo album here.
Everyone seems to be coming out of the woodwork to visit San Antonio this weekend…. Wes and Rebecca pulled in from Dallas today… Along with Prasanth from Temple, and we might be graced by Joe’s presence from Houston… They all must’ve heard about the big party tomorrow… The more the merrier!
Meanwhile Wes and the gang hit Davenports for a few shots and some fun – check it out.
So it looks like the cellular companies are going to start publishing cell numbers in the 411 directories… I think this is pretty crappy… check it out.
If you’re gonna endo, you’d better do it right… and if you can’t, you probably should make sure your buddies aren’t taping it so you don’t get made fun of…
From here:
When Kim asked if I wanted tickets, I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this whole pageant thing – I mean really, its just a bunch of girls prancing around and stuff right?
Well…. I gotta say – if you bring the right mix of bone-head buddies with you, it can be a freak’n RIOT! Full bar… pose as the meda… then Brian sneaks you up to the front row, how can it not get crazy? And don’t forget the after-party… Woo Hoo!
Good times… Goooood times… Some pics here, more to come.
Anyone who says “Hey! You should patent that!” has never EVER gone through the patent process – what a pain. If you want an utterly dumbed down version of what happens read this. The real-life version is much more painful.
Anyhow, I’m off to the the Miss USA pageant prelim’s down the street.. later on.
I love my Elph, but I want something smaller… I’ve looked at the EXILIM from Casio, but it didn’t have an optical zoom… well… it didn’t used to have one… hmmm….. View Image Here
Lets try a new format…
Wanna learn what t.A.T.u. means? Read this for a complete brain dump about the band.
Only in America would this happen. View image
And here we have Chris defining what orange-alert is.
Today’s lunch conversation:
Rich: “How’s school going?”
Steve: “Oh it sucks – I have to read Wuthering Heights in my lit. class”
Rich: “Really? Didn’t you read that in high school too?”
Steve: “Nope.”
Rich: “Dirk, didn’t you read it in high school?”
Dirk: “Nope. I read it for fun.”
Four nights in Austin in the past week. Wow. Its like I live there now. Paul and I did the math and figured out that it would be cheaper to just rent hotel rooms every time we went up instead of leasing an apartment – so be it!
There are so many stories I can’t even begin to write them all here… but lets just say I need to take it easy for awhile…. you can check out all the photos here and here.
[sigh] I REALLY wish I had a photo of Brian getting stuffed by the bicycle guy… funny stuff. [laughter]
Are these spec-ads? Do people actually air this stuff? Am I missing good commericials because I’m too quick to skip them on my TiVo? This is some GREAT stuff!
Back in the day when I was still in high school, people had this major issue with dropping their beepers in the toilet. I have no idea why that would happen, but it was funny none-the-less. These days you hear the same story but with cell phones — and I still think its pretty funny to hear a cellphone vs. toilet story. But this has definitely got to take the cake – “Three Die Retrieving Phone from Latrine.” My god.
Did anyone say procrastination?
I have to admit, I love Maxim… and Stuff is almost as good. And articles like this one make me feel that all the money I haven’t spent on Stuff is worth every penny. 😉
Joe Millioinaire? Love it? Hate it? Don’t care? Wanna kill a few minutes? Check this out.
Everyone had a school bully… and sometimes he’d extort money from you… well, he tried… Its seems that there’s some new Uber-Bully out there now – and this particular one raked in almost $13,000!
Hiccups? Can’t get rid of them? If you’ve tried everything and nothing has worked, you might want to check out this reference.
And to completely de-bunk the whole japanese faux-see-through skrits read this.
Ever see “FISH” on the back of a food truck? Ever wonder why you never see BEEF? or CHICKEN? Paul tells me that “FISH” stands for “Federally Inspected Safe Handling”. Go figure.
And PLEASE PLEASE don’t use your Razor Air-go for acts of violence like this.
First it was aluminium foil… then people started throwing CD’s in them… and now, people are putting WATER in microwave ovens and causing mayhem!
Evidentally, this phenomenon known as “super heating” is well known — I dunno about you but I’ve never had a hot cup of water EXPLODE like this video shows.

Let me start by saying that I think that Chis is awesome. He’s fun to hang out with and is the life of the party when called to duty, but WTF is this?
And if you’re so inclined you can see the full-on music video of how it went down here.
Driving home at 2am from Austin is not the most entertaining thing in the world once you’ve had a few drinks in your system. I did make it home safe, but I don’t think I’ll be doing that again.
Anyhow, my attempts in attending SXSW for music was a complete bust last night. I got side tracked by Cindy, Brent, and Brian with sushi… Cool River… and Zero Degree/Lava Lounge – well technically, the last place was an official SXSW venue and I did listen to the band and the DJ for a little while…. oh well, maybe I’ll have better luck tonight.
Oh, and Brent, here’s the QuicktimeVR of your new house that I made – knock yourself out – and I’m NOT laying down stones for your crummy retaining wall – got it?
A couple of years back I spend a few weeks in London. To this day I’m not sure if stuff like this or this are really just “British-isms” or if they’re trying to be funny. One of those things that make you go – Hmmmmmm
New Scientist reports that “Stupidity should be cured“! Thank GOD! And all this time I thought I was the only one!
TK Rootbeer is some gooooood stuff. If anyone knows of a place besides BeveragesDirect.com to get it shipped into Texas, please let me know – I don’t know if I want to drop 20 bux on a twelve-pack of soda (particularly since I want one of each flavor.)
My sister sent me this to watch. On one hand I think its great that shes sending me links – its kinda like a bonding thing. But then again, I really don’t understand why its so funny. Wait, ok so I laughed a few times, but still – this is the most obsured thing I’ve ever watched.
There are only a few things I like about San Antonio. but I gotta say, this is one city that knows how to party… and San Antonio folk party ALL the time. Fiesta is coming up next month– a whole two weeks of back-to-back events, and its probably the biggest party this city has annually. The 2003 Fiesta coverage is here along with the schedule.
And meanwhile, we’ll have to entertain ourselves with trying to track down all the women who were imported for the Miss USA pageant. They must’ve heard about all the partying and decided to come here to join in! Woohoo!
For those of you who use MSN Messenger and have installed the MSN Add-on for instant Hotmail access, you might wanna check this out so you can get rid of those pesky ads on the bottom.
Since we’re already talking about Microsoft, I thought I’d throw this into mix. It seems that they know that network adapters don’t work when the cable is unplugged – profound.
This past weekend, my company Rackspace Managed Hosting was in the local paper… its not much of a paper, but its a great fluff article about us.
OOOH! And there seems to be a proliferation of idiot spammers using the MS messaging service to pop up windows on your desktop to send you some great offer… You can go here to learn how to turn it off. If you want to complain to the company who builds the software go check out their website here and drop them a line.
Office distractions? Sure! Go get a Razor Air-go… great fun around the office – assuming you don’t face plant into a wall. 🙂
Every so often you stumble on a gem of a link… this one happens to be from E-bay… The Instant Girlfriend – gotta check it out. Its approppriately in the “Everything Else:Weird Stuff:Slightly Unusual” catagory. Funny stuff.
I had some friends over Tuesday night… primarily to watch Fear Factor since this particular episode was filmed while we were in Las Vegas, at the hotel we were staying at. Anyways, if you haven’t seen the Penn & Teller show Bullshit on Showtime I highly recommend you TiVo it — Lets just say that I now officialy feel like an idiot for buying bottled water. 🙂
ALI G! Ok, honestly… I had no idea I knew this guy – apparently he’s the limo driver in Madonna’s “Music” music video. And now, he has his own TV show on HBO — and I have to say he’s one funny mofo.
For those of you who pass the “NPR Test” and love Crank Yankers, you’ll love this interview… it talks about the complications of crank calling people – I guess boys never really grow up, we just keep doing the same things over and over and with more gusto!
I don’t smoke… but sometimes I wish I did – especially at work. I miss out on so many breaks during the day since I’m a non-smoker. Dilbert feels me.
Nokia is one of those few companies that continue to amaze me. Check out this video.
So I was at this wedding in Houston this past weekend, and my college friend Mefi was wearing the most amazing perfume… I LOVE IT. Its “Issey Miyake” and I’ve been told that its pretty expensive as fragrances go – I have no idea, but whatever it costs, its worth every penny. Just look what effect it has!
